The Chinese tech giant Xiaomi decided to develop a concept car for the racing game Gran Turismo. The result? One of the coolest hypercars ever made.
Xiaomi’s Vision Gran Turismo, the 51st concept vehicle developed for the game franchise, features advanced aerodynamic elements such as the Active Wake Control System, which channels air at the rear of the vehicle and, through micro-perforations around the taillight, pushes turbulent airflow further away from the back.

It also includes Accretion Rims, wheel covers with turbine fins that pull air to cool the brakes. Magnets keep the covers stationary while the vehicle is in motion, reducing drag to a coefficient of just 0.29, according to the company.

Inside, Xiaomi embraced the “sofa corridor” concept, with the dashboard, seats, and door panels forming a loop around the cabin, which has a slim screen at the base of the windshield. The yoke-style steering wheel also features a display, while the space between the seats hosts various physical controls.

The car is packed with sensors that monitor both the environment and the driver. Using these sensors, the vehicle can adapt to the driver’s mood. It features artificial intelligence, drive-by-wire steering, and many other technologies you would expect from a futuristic car designed with a video game in mind.
